Southwark Underground Station, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

Wow what an exciting day! Little bit of a roller coaster but I will tell you about that in a minute.

This is a photo I have uploaded before but I had quite a few recommendations to try it in a 1:1 square crop and I must admit I don’t know why I didn’t. Sometimes you can be focused on one way of editing a photo you can sometimes miss the obvious. I do like the original crop but this is far superior, many thanks to those who suggested I did it!

Anyway, the reason why I am excited is that I have managed to bag two tickets to have a tour around two London Underground Ghost stations as part of London Transport Museum Hidden London celebrations!! One is of the old Jubilee Line platforms at Charing Cross station and the other, well strictly not a station but linked to the station, is the Underground Bunkers at Clapham South Station, this is the one that I am most excited about. I saw these tickets only couple of days ago and knew demand will be massive so went online at 10am this morning to find that most had a ready been sold to members of the Transport Museum prior to general release. I was quite despondent with this but I kept looking and got lucky and managed to find a day and time for Clapham South. I then signed up to the waiting list for Charing Cross tour and 2 minutes later, an email appeared and I got that ticket too. One minute I thought I wasn’t getting anything and then getting both tickets I wanted.

I am so excited about these and having been on the Aldwych Station Tour and Brunel Thames Tunnel tour these are generally very well organised by the London Transport Museum and I can’t wait!

Did any of you get tickets? You may still be able to get tickets on the link below

Remember to click on the ‘Sold Out’ button and put yourself down on the waiting list for the days you want, you might get lucky!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Selected Photos JAPAN #007 by MarcoMarotto

Selected Photos PETIT MINOU by fredconcha

The Phare du Petit Minou is a lighthouse in the roadstead of Brest, standing in front of the Fort du Petit Minou, in the commune of Plouzané. By aligning it with the phare du Portzic, it shows the safe route to follow for ships to enter the roadstead. It also has a red signal that indicates a dangerous sector around the plateau of les Fillettes (literally the girls), one of the submerged rocks in the goulet of Brest — sailors remember this by using the mnemonic “the Minou blushes when he covers les Fillettes”.
