The Dune 7 climb resulted in a nice vista to the west towards the sea as we composed numerous S-curves of the various dunes. But looking toward the north while the sun was setting resulted in this Palouse-like scene that produced some lovely velvet shadows over the dunes all the way to sunset. The bomb run down the slope was a bit easier than the way up

Mesquite Flats Dunes in the early morning. If you look closely you will see a photographer out on the dune. This was a great trip to the desert and the temps were not too high this March. It was a magical moment to witness the sand dunes glow pink when the sun came up.
