The Path To The Other World by TheNarratographer by TheNarratographer

I decided to make my way over to Durdle Door in the hope of a decent sunset. When I got there, the place was pretty much deserted, with just another photographer and his mate waiting for the same thing, in pretty much the same place. We got talking and compared ideas, both standing there on this precarious ledge that gives the perfect view of the crooked staircase leading down to the arch. Whilst we were talking, a clutch of Polish people arrived and began to loiter, racing down to the arch as if they had never seen something so spectacular. To be honest, most people haven’t and as I come here so often, I have become numb to the places beauty.

As it approached sundown, both myself and my new friend, Rich, waited in anticipation. The sky was beautifully broken and after the amazing sunrise of the morning, I was certain that the evening would be just as magnificent. We waited, we waited and we waited. The sky never changed, never moved. It stayed as it was until it was dark and although we both got some great images, it simply wasn’t what it promised to be.
