There are several such beech trees in the Black Forest. They are called wind beech or weather beech (in German: Windbuche / Wetterbuche) because the tough and windy weather formed the trees to such dynamic figures. It was a pity that we didn’t have enough snow to capture the famous snowbound look of the trees, but I love this view too!
