I was about halfway through the drive home from the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge near Olympia, when a break in the clouds opened up and made Mount Saint Helens glow a bright white. It was quite striking, compared to the rest of an otherwise dreary day. I quickly got off the freeway and frantically searched for a vantage point I could shoot from before the clouds closed up again. Eventually, I was able to come away with this shot from due West of the mountain.
