It was taken in the Egyptian Red Sea in the Ras Mohammed marine park…
Towards summer each year, large schools of fish gather in the area to spawn. Although (illegal) fishing in the area has decimated the size of the schools over the years, it remains a spectacular sight to see.
Barracuda, Bohar Snapper, Jacks, unicorn fish, not to mention bat-fish gather in these tight schools, only splitting when divers are overcome with the urge to swim through the middle of them.
It’s amazing to witness and I sincerely hope the dwindling numbers of fish don’t disappear altogether over the next couple of years.
