I had this shot with the milky way in my mind for a very long time. However, due to weather conditions as well as the treacherous nature of the surface at this location I could not get around to taking it. The last moonless night before the milkyway season also passed and I thought I would have to postpone it till next year. However, my nephew wanted to make a video for some project and asked me for an interesting location. I felt this place would be interesting for capturing sunset, so I took him there. After the sunset, I saw the crescent moon setting and I thought this was my opportunity to shoot the milky way with the moon. I waited till the sky became dark enough to reveal the galactic core while the light of the twilight and the moon helped me get the foreground with a much higher degree of detail. Clear sky forecast by Escaype. Also, grateful to Marc for showing me that it is indeed a promising location.
This is a 5 shot vertorama with shots within a span of a few minutes of each other.
