A silent sunset moment on Lake Sils with magic lighting upon the Piz da la Margna and storm clouds rolling over the ridge on the other side of the valley.
This panorama image is from my first time visit to the beautiful Engadin valley in Graubünden, Switzerland. After the heavy snowfall the day before with around 1 meter of fresh champagne powder snow and high avalanche risk it seemed to be much safer to stay at the bottom of the valley. Lake Sils was completely frozen and covered with a mixture of snow and slushy ice – that didn’t feel too safe after all 😉 Next weekend the annual Engadin Skimarathon will also take the route over lake Sils on a wide prepared track.
