Algo que representa parte de mi visión en la fotografía es capturar la espontaneidad en el día a día dejando congelados esos instantes que tal vez no se vuelvan a repetir en otra ocasión y que transmiten la esencia de la vida en una ciudad.
A pesar de que muchos proyectos se preparan con anticipación, la idea de este surge mientras estaba tomando fotos aleatorias de las personas en el Basler Fasnacht (El carnaval de Basilea) ubicado en Basel, Suiza, el cual también es llamado en su dialecto local como “die drey scheenschte Dääg, que significa: Los tres días mas lindos del año.
A través del lente de mi cámara pude apreciar rostros que irradiaban las mas sinceras expresiones de felicidad, entusiasmo, asombro, etc. Es esto lo que me motiva a realizar una serie fotográfica en la cual dejar plasmada una de las festividades mas tradicionales de Suiza.

Project: Souls in the eyes of the Basler Fasnacht
Something that represents part of my vision in photography is to capture the spontaneity in the day to day leaving frozen those moments that may not be repeated on another occasion and that transmit the essence of life in a city.
In spite of the fact that many projects are prepared in advance, the idea of this occurs while I was taking photos at random people in the Basler Fasnacht (The Carnival of Basel) located in Basel, Switzerland, which is also called in their local dialect as “die drey scheenschte Dääg, which means: the three most beautiful days on the year.
Through the lens of my camera I could appreciate faces that irradiated the most sincere expressions of happiness, enthusiasm, amazement, etc. This is what motivates me to make a photographic series in which to leave embodied one of the most traditional festivities of Switzerland.
