A UNESCO World Heritage Site, hexagonal basalt columns march down into the sea, the remnant of an ancient volcanic eruption. As foreboding as the photo may look it can not capture the feel of the cold north wind howling off the sea. Every shot had to be proceeded by a vigorous wiping off of the lens and then a quick shutter release before the lens was again covered with sea spray.
