Buddhist temple in Damdek, Cambodia. Near Siem Reap almost all our drive and energy is directed towards the Angkor temples. These are outstanding examples of medieval Khmer art and engineering – but there are lots of hidden modern, living gems too, such as this small undescript temple a few kilometers from the Siem Reap-Phnom Penh main road.
The moment i saw it, i knew i would had a problem capturing the feeling of the place – its a full 360 degree show of color, art and peace which evades the lens, so i tried my best to solve this through the usual iteration+love approach. It all got much easier to focus when one of the residing monks came to check on me and made me some silent, but nice, company. We’re all used to see the orange robes contrasting nicely with the old rock, but inside this place they just camouflage and mix in with the place; that was what i tried to capture here.
