For years, I saw pictures of Lake Bled, Slovenia, on Pinterest, here on 500px and in articles about “places you must visit before you die.” I always wondered what it would be like to actually see something so beautiful with my own eyes.
Sometimes you see amazing photos of somewhere and when you visit, it just isn’t what you thought it’d be. Other times though, no picture can truly do a place justice. Nothing beats the experience of being there yourself, looking at the scene with your own two eyes, thinking that – in that moment – you’re the luckiest person in the world. Lake Bled is one of those places.
In this image, as the sun falls below a hill, it casts fading light through the valley, illuminating the fall foliage behind Bled Island and creating a storybook ending to the day.
