Third Time Lucky by mattparry by mattparry

I’ve just had a fantastic week on the Greek island of ‎Santorini‬. This place is stunning. People flock to the town of ‪‎Oia‬ on the northern tip of the crater for sunset. The view here is incredible but the occasion is let down by the volume of selfie snapping tourists 2 or 3 deep all angling for a view.

The good thing is that as soon as the sun has disappeared over the horizon they clap, cheer then disappear onto the buses and cruise ships heading out of town leaving plenty of room for photographers to enjoy blue hour.

I headed to the ruins of the castle walls on 3 of my 5 nights for sunset. The low, thick haze which had stopped the sky getting any real colour on my previous attempts had gone and while there was still a light haze this time it only added to image.
