7 Aphrodisiac Cocktails to Put You in the Mood

There are so many cutesy pink, red, and heart-shaped desserts and drinks put out on Valentine’s Day, but none of those really get you into a low-light mood. Instead, turn up the heat with one of these aphrodisiac cocktails for grown-ups.

What all experts seem to agree on is that no food will automatically “turn on” your sex drive. However, if you’re with your significant other or a newer flame, these food-and-cocktail combinations may help to rev your engine.

Get Background YouTube Playback on Android Without a Music Key Subscription

Google debuted YouTube Music Key in November, and for $10 a month, this essentially turned YouTube into a music streaming service. With ad-free music videos and background audio playback, YouTube serves as a viable alternative to Spotify or Pandora for Music Key subscribers.

Even if you’re fine paying a monthly fee, there’s a bigger issue with Music Key—it’s still not available to the general public. At the time of this writing, only members of Google Music All Access can use Music Key.

But developer Pyler has recently discovered a way to unlock some of these features for free. His Xposed… more

How to Deal with Anxiety

Feeling anxious? First things first, take a deep breath. Breathe in slowly for four counts, hold it for four counts, and exhale for four counts. Repeat several times until you feel more anchored in a calmer state of mind.

For other techniques on dealing with anxiety, practice mindful awareness, talk it out with a trusted friend, exercise for 20 minutes, or take natural supplements like fish oil or chamomile tea.

If you are experiencing chronic and serious anxiety that is interfering with your daily life, be sure to consult your doctor or a mental health professional.

Xposed Is Back! Here’s How to Install the Framework on Android Lollipop

Oh Rovo89, you sly dog. The developer behind Android’s most popular modding platform had us worried that the Xposed Framework might be nearing the end of development, but after a tease earlier this week, it has finally been made compatible with Android Lollipop.

Installation is a bit different this time around (at least for now), but Xposed is definitely alive and kicking. This Lollipop-compatible build is in its earliest stages of development right now, so bugs are to be expected, but I’ll show you how to install it below.

How to Use “Smart Lock” on Android Lollipop for More Convenient Security

Keeping expensive mobile devices safe and secure is a priority for most of us, but the process of repeatedly unlocking a phone or tablet can seem like a pointless task. This leads to disabling the lock screen altogether, especially when in a safe place (e.g., home, office, car, etc.).

That’s where Android Lollipop comes in.

Although Google’s latest operating system is currently only running on 1.6% of all Android devices, Lollipop’s new features make it both fun and more secure to use, namely the Smart Lock feature. This security feature lets you seamlessly unlock your device at a specified… more

Food Tool Friday: Is Vintage Cast Iron Better?

Cast-iron cookware breeds a strange kind of obsession. When I got my first pan, I spent untold hours seasoning, cooking, researching the best non-soap methods to use for cleaning, and re-seasoning that thing. Finally, I became exhausted by the whole process and realized that you can skip seasoning a cast-iron pan as long as you use it regularly and clean and oil it properly in-between uses.

However, according to many people who love cast iron, vintage pans are far superior to modern ones (vintage, in this case, being defined as any pan made pre-1950). Many cast-iron aficionados swear that… more

Control Music & Videos Using Hand Gestures on Your Mac

Looking back at my childhood in the ’90s, I can’t help but feel like I was deceived. Movies that took place in the “future,” like in the year 2015, would showcase awesome technology. You know, self-driving or flying cars, hoverboards, and virtual displays controlled with hand gestures—so where are they?!

While flying cars may be years away from now, we have been fortunate enough to get a glimpse of self-driving technology, thanks to Google. Even hoverboards have materialized. But these two “future” technologies are, while tangible, still a ways away from appearing in your neighborhood. As for… more

How to Unlock Your Smartphone on Any U.S. Carrier for Free

A landmark bill finally went into action this week that will allow American cellular customers to unlock their smartphones for free. The process of unlocking may vary between mobile service providers, but you can rest assured that you are now entitled, by law, to carrier-unlock your smartphone.

Carriers had until February 10, 2015 to bring their policies into compliance with this bill, so from that day forth, ridiculous unlocking fees are a thing of the past, bringing the U.S. in line with policies that have long since been in place throughout most of the world.
