Five Reasons Women Dig Sober Dudes

Do women find sloppy, stumbling-around drunk dudes attractive? I used to think so, especially when the average bar star pulls more tail than the overly serious, super religious guy. You know, the guy who is always talking about his Alcoholics Anonymous meetings or how he can’t do this or that because he’s afraid he’ll relapse.

But, as a recovering addict in sobriety for six years, I’m here to tell you that plenty of guys are changing the face of what it means to be sober. We are defying stereotypes. We are not boring, we don’t obsess about living sober, and we lead healthy adventurous lives that are just as diverse as guys who get drunk on a regular basis.

Sobriety is getting a whole lot more attention these days and women find it sexier than ever. How would I know? Because I’m the guy now who pulls more tail than that average bar star.

While he’s busy picking fights and grabbing booties on the dance floor, us sober guys are sealing the deal. It takes a great deal of confidence to approach an attractive female while sober. I wasn’t comfortable doing it overnight, but with practice, it gets easier, especially when she’s interested.

There are many reasons why women find sober guys more attractive, five of which I am happy to say I no longer have to deal with in recovery.

Getting It Up

great sex

Most guys are not great at sex to begin with. Compound that problem with booze, and women are left wondering what just happened.

The number of stories circulating about women who never achieve orgasm can more than likely be attributed to all the drunk men in their lives. Maybe it was the “whiskey dick,” they passed out, or they were only concerned about getting themselves off.

Sober guys, who are mentally in the game, can perform under any circumstance. The best part is that you will remember what you did to make her happy and she’ll let you do it again and again and again. Not a bad situation to be in.

She Hates When You Say, “I Was Drunk. I Don’t Remember Saying That.”

Save yourself from a lifetime of arguments. A sober guy can remember what he said and it wasn’t “I love you,” especially if you don’t mean it, which drunk guys are notorious for doing.

I have to admit that I have the worst memory, but I significantly increase my odds of remembering without alcohol in my system. The sober guy has no excuse. He can’t blame alcohol. Women will respect you for saying what you mean and meaning what you say.

Drunk Guys Go Broke

Some guys spend hundreds of dollars on booze. Drinks are expensive. This adds up quick when guys go out more than a couple nights a week and on the weekends.

It’s nice to have extra spending money to treat a woman to a romantic dinner or simply to show her that you are financially stable. It says a lot about a guy who puts his money toward a better cause than drugs or alcohol.

Strong Enough to Be Her Man

passionate lover

Women are passionate. They like being held in the arms of strong guy, and I don’t mean just physically strong.

Sure, sober guys are more often than not in good shape with healthy skin, hair and nails. When I quit abusing drugs and alcohol, the sparkle in my eyes returned.

But what is more attractive than someone who is strong from within their mind and soul? Staying sober will allow you to set and achieve your goals, something that is important to women.

Sober Guys Display Real Confidence

Liquid Courage is a farce. If you’re like me, when you’re crushing on a girl, asking her out can be the scariest moment of your life. Down a few shots and it’s no problem, right? That was the past.

Now, I’ve grown and use that “pair” I was given and go for it. Confidence is attractive to a woman, so even if she says no, maybe she’ll look at you differently and consider it. If not, you’ll live.

For thousands of years, alcohol has been man’s biggest crutch. We all have a false sense of self while intoxicated. You might be a completely different person when you’re drunk and she might not like you when you’re sober. Don’t drink to make the situation easier for you and harder for her down the road. Give her the real you from the start.

Before you reach for a drink, consider how being drunk will affect your relationship with women. Try playing the game sober and see what happens. You might get your happy ending and one you don’t have to pay for.

Technology in the Classroom — Should Technology Take Over The Education System?

Education is far from being the only aspect of our lives that is constantly changing under the influence of rapid technological development. Since education in many ways determines our children’s future, changes in this field will have the biggest impact on tomorrow’s world.

Recent generations are easily adopting new gadgets and using them for enhancing work and leisure experiences. Will adoption of advanced technology by educational institutions produce the same effect? Let’s talk about technology’s influence on education and possible changes rapid tech development can bring to current educational system.

Changes in the teacher’s role

technology education

From ancient times, until the beginning of 21st century, educational process was overly dependent on teachers and tutors. This influenced them to develop fantastic narrative skills and knowledge on many different subjects.

For several millennia, these professionals have been doing a great job and, among them, we can find some of the most prominent minds of human history including: Aristotle, Galileo Galilee, Sir Isaac Newton and Confucius. Now the time has finally come for the teachers to relax, because advanced technology can be used for multiplying the effect of their lectures and enhancing their student’s experience.

See Also: 35 Inspiring Quotes By The Great Scientist Albert Einstein

In my elementary school, teachers used overhead projectors, cassettes players, VHS recorders and photo slide projectors. In high school, tech advances shift our attention to digital picture, audio and video formats, and enabled our teachers to use all of these media with the help of just one projector and a laptop, without carrying and connecting the old heavy machinery. Tech development also made teachers’ lessons more graphic.

Soon we will be able to use virtual reality simulations for teaching purposes. This means that students will be able to see volcano eruptions or atomic processes or deep space from first person view and with outstanding accuracy and graphics. Of course, this incredible technology won’t leave teachers jobless. Their teaching will just become easier, more graphical and effective.

The look of future classrooms

Today, almost all schools have their media rooms. In the near future, each classroom will turn into the media room equipped with top notch universal home theatres and powerful sound systems .

Wide use of augmented reality concept will also influence the look of future classrooms. It will enable teachers to take their students to virtual field trips. In the middle of lecture about Roman Age, students and teachers will find themselves on the streets of ancient Pompeii, or in the middle of CERN’s Hadron Collider if they wish to switch to physics.

Students will also be able to touch and feel objects they are hearing about because 3D printers will be used for making inexpensive and realistic models.

Free education for all

technology in education

This is another great concept that is currently reaching its momentum. The Internet represents an unlimited knowledge base, and nowadays, even  the most prestigious American universities are posting their lectures, literature and tests online. This enables people to gain knowledge without making tuition payments, or leaving their bedroom for that matter.

Free educational websites will also allow students to repeat lessons they missed. This means that student absenteeism will produce much lighter consequences in terms of knowledge, discipline and curricula.

Some experts worry that free online education will undermine the role of classic educational institutions. This might happen, but it is not necessarily a bad thing. Any kind of monopoly, even in educational sphere, can be disastrous for future generations.

Now when top colleges are posting free content online, all other market players will need to invest much more time and money in making their lectures more valuable because it will be the only way for them to attract students. This way we will get the top quality education, which is completely free of charge.

In the end, it is easy to conclude that increasing influence of advance technology on education brings nothing but benefits. Although the question from the headline sounds a bit apocalyptic (because technology take-over is still associated with Terminator 2: Judgment Day movie), advanced tech solutions will be able to help teachers to spark interest and engage their students to learn more.

Top 5 Time Management Hacks To Get You Ahead

Are you needing effective time management hacks?

Peter Drucker quoted, “Time is the scarcest resource, and unless it is managed nothing else can be managed.” If time is not used effectively, it can spoil the whole game. Most of us complain that we don’t get time to do something we would love to do. But the fact is, you will never get enough time. You will have to produce it.

We often think that we are overburdened with work. But, the reality is that there is always room for improvement when it comes to managing time. A person can perform a set of tasks in a day while another person can perform the same set of tasks in 5-6 hours. It’s all a matter of efficiency and concentration.

Here are 5 time management hacks that will make every second worthwhile:

Prioritize : Where do your tasks lie?

prioritize tasks

Many of us fail to judge which task is important and which task is urgent. The day a person learns to prioritize his tasks, he would be a master of his time.

We all are in a time crunch and our tasks are never ending. You can start with segregating tasks based on how urgent and how important they are:

Start by putting those tasks on high priority in Quadrant I which are both urgent and important.

These are the tasks which can’t be avoided or procrastinated. For example, tasks with deadlines and health emergencies are categorized under this section. Manage time allocation to these tasks in such a way that they consume less of your time. Also, avoid emergency situations which can take a lot of your time.

Secondly, put the tasks which are important but not urgent in the Quadrant II.

These are your long term goals which will yield you results. It is the most important quadrant and will consume most of your time. Tasks like strategic planning and preparing reports are categorized under important and not urgent.

Now come the tasks that are urgent but not important.

These are the tasks that are not of much value but urgent. Tasks like taking a phone call or replying to an email which are distracting in nature should be put in Quadrant III. Keep in mind to spend minimum time on these tasks.

Lastly, keep all those tasks in Quadrant IV which are not important and not urgent. These are the tasks that kill your valuable time like surfing the internet, gossiping with colleagues and chatting with friends.

Plan out everything

You must have heard people saying start your day with a plan, which is not the correct method. To be effective, you must plan your day the night before. Doing so will put less stress on your brain in the morning and you’ll be able to work more effectively.

Planning your schedule on a weekly basis is the best option. You get more room to adjust urgent tasks in between your preplanned week which is less stressful in comparison to planning on a daily basis.

You just have to make a few adjustments rather than planning schedule from scratch every day. Use a daily schedule planner, or better, a weekly planner where you can assign yourself tasks and plan the whole schedule of a day or a week.

Once you have planned what tasks need to be done on what day, allocate time to each task. Putting a deadline to each task increases your productivity. Deadlines imply a goal needed to be achieved. And a goal-driven activity is sustainable itself. Nothing could be better than self-imposed deadlines. Putting a time constraint helps you achieve goals you have defined for the day.

Learn the art of saying NO

just say no

Learning to say no is important. If you want control of your life, you have to be stern at times. We all want to be liked by all and stay in everyone’s good books. But sometimes saying yes to others takes a toll on your schedule and messes up your time allocation to each task.

You have to get this thing straight. Not everyone can be a people pleaser and being a people pleaser does no good to you in the long run. Set boundaries and learn to decline someone’s request in a polite manner.

Saying no is a great way to keep you focused on your task and it also keeps distractions at bay. Once you agree to do a task for someone, it is likely that they will approach you again to get their task done. Hence, you get distracted from your tasks.

Learn to say no to others and yes to yourself.

Early bird catches the worm

Get up early in the morning. Make it a habit. Get an uninterrupted sleep at night for at least 8 hours.

Waking up early gives you time to exercise. And by doing exercise in the morning, you stay active throughout the day. Exercising not just keeps you fit but also increases your stamina which keeps you going throughout the day.

Harvard biologist Christoph Randler found that people who wake up early in the morning are more proactive as compared to those who wake up late. Also, early risers are better planners and anticipate problems efficiently.

Sync multiple calendars at one place

Managing multiple Google calendars can be a hectic task for those who manage more than one Google account. A lot of time gets wasted in logging in and out of accounts in order to access calendars to view upcoming events. Weekplan is a free weekly planner that allows you to integrate multiple Google calendars in one place making it easy for you to keep a track of all your upcoming events.

You will find various blogs, numerous hacks and a lot of eBooks telling you how to manage your time and be productive. One method is to harness the use of technologies like apps to help you manage your weekly and daily reminders and events.

Try out these time management hacks and see which ones work best for you.

Should You Be Jealous?

If keeping up with the Joneses is raising your day to day stress levels, have no fear – it happens to everyone! As social media takes over our life we are faced with new social challenges that have never been seen before to this grandeur in human history. As news media becomes neighbour media, everyday we see the proverbial Joneses in the face of everyone we follow, as they take lavish vacations, birth beautiful children, buy and sell homes and receive sought after promotions.

And where are we in all of this? Infamously lurking behind on Facebook, watching everyone go about their daily lives and gradually becoming more concerned about our own social status. When was the last time we celebrated something? When was the last time we had something to be proud of to show? When was the last time we posted something that got “100 Likes” on Facebook or new followers on Instagram? How come she has so many followers and I don’t?

jealous2There are some brilliant art commentaries out there on the internet about how today we validate our self worth by the amount of “likes” we get, the amount of “friends” we have, and so on and so forth. They hit us right where it counts because we are all aware that it happens to us. Think about the last time you made a good post – you felt good. Then a few minutes later you felt a buzz in your pocket; you will open your phone to see who liked your post… who commented on your post… who shared your post…

That act of social activity has now taken over your day until you grow tired of waiting for Likes. You feel better when more people like it, and feel estranged when no one likes it at all, or someone comments something you did not expect. It’s normal, it happens, we all do it.

The pinnacle era of human comparison is on us, and it’s our duty to our health to see it for the entertainment that it is without becoming critical of ourselves, for of course self – criticism is the easiest and most accessible scapegoat when it comes to personal judgement.

Remember that you are a humble person. The reason you do not seek validation from things like this is because you are already happy with yourself. You know you do not need reassurance from the internet to show yourself that you are having a good day, or that what you did was worthy of praise.

You are the kind of person who can leave a tip when the barista isn’t looking, the person who will donate to a charity when no one asked, the person who can dance when no one is watching because you are happy with your life. You don’t need the approval of friends, acquaintances and strangers for you to remember what you already know. Learning to give praise without receiving it is a fundamental concept in religions and moral ethics that we learn from childhood. It is our ability to congratulate others for their merits when we have no expectations to receive any such p raise for ourselves. We have to earn it, just as they did.

Should you be jealous? Why? Who cares?

Although I do not think comparing each other is a good way to usurp other people’s credits, maybe sometimes it’s a good way to keep things in perspective.

I had a great friend from University who was always quite the go-getter. He always posted about his academic achievements and great field trips into the wilderness for scientific research. I was living an enjoyable life myself, but I didn’t have a constant reminder of it. I did however, always have a constant reminder of his enjoyable life. Recently he had really achieved the american dream with his newest post of his new car and new job, at a high up banking agency. I was very happy for him, and wondered, was I jealous of his success? Did he do it right, and I, did not?

A little more research into it and I recognized that his new job and home was in one of the smallest towns in our area, with the highest rates of depression, child teen pregnancy, adolescent drug use and other unfortunate statistics. Although it seemed like he was about to start a great life with his career and assets, I became more thankful for my own life in the city where I enjoyed a more cosmopolitan life with more amenities and less of a poor reputation.

Whenever we are congratulating someone for their efforts, is a time to reflect the feelings back onto ourselves and look inside to allow our self to congratulate ourselves for our milestones and successes. There is plenty of love and space in the world to offer pats on the back to everyone around us as well as ourselves. We don’t have to be jealous about anyone’s life because we have our own amazing life to lead. And isn’t that worth celebrating?

5 Places To Look For Business Ideas

The industrial revolution hit, the internet era is in full gear, Japan is inventing robots with uncanny AI, and the world is experiencing exponential scientific growth. With 7 billion people, our brightest are constantly re-inventing the wheel to propel us further. More and more entrepreneurs are popping up all over the world, self funded and with great ideas to share. There are over a billion web pages, blogs, e-stores, and now that China has opened up, the world of global trade has exploded.

Without Steve Jobs and his peers we wouldn’t all be walking around with iPads; without Bill Gates we wouldn’t be logging onto Windows everyday at work; who was Mark Zuckerberg before Facebook? All of these guys started their multi-billion dollar industries in their basements and backyards, slogging through schoolwork and devoting themselves to their efforts. Could you be the next big entrepreneur ?

why_female_entrepreneursAnyone can be, and small ideas sometimes turn into the largest wheels. Nevermind that, look to your local community and you are bound to find fellow neighbours thriving off of ideas that they have taken to the next level. Do you have an ambitious mind? Here are a few places to turn up your brain’s revolutions-per-minute and transcend to new entrepreneurial levels.

1. Any Retail Stores

This seems obvious but hear me out. More and more people today are selling things online and sourcing them from overseas. Next time you are in a store – fitness, pets, food, hardware, automotive, anything – walk through the aisles and take inventory of all the strange things you would otherwise never look at. Cat carriers, funny pillows, resistance bands, strange tools; all made overseas, and shipped to retailers by local sellers. Attract ideas to yourself by noticing sale patterns of easy to ship items that can be made and designed easily without much threshold for damage. Sometimes you just need to see something new to inspire a creative idea with yourself.

2. Etsy, Ebay, Redbubble…

These are a few examples of websites where people are able to sell things that they created. Although you might not be the world’s best industrial designer, these websites are another source of valuable information about what people are buying. People go on the internet to safely satisfy their desire for impulse shopping. They can order things online without leaving home or even seeing money leave their bank account. They can purchase things that look interesting, at low prices, without feeling guilty about blowing through their savings. Here you will find different kinds of shelving units, creative dish wash brushes, alternate wall ornaments and graphic tee shirts that you haven’t thought of before. The mind is easily stimulated – let it happen.

3. International websites

This one seems remote but it’s not. Try to log on to some foreign websites in places like Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam and India. These are countries that although have lower GDP’s than ours, have massive populations of people who love shopping and technological advancements. See what is popular in other countries, what young people are buying, what the market trends are in other places. You’ll find giant Pikachu pillows, motorbike helmet ornaments, and strange fashion designs that are surprisingly fashionable and popular.

4. Celebrity buzz

Daymond John may not be a household name, but he is the founder of FUBU clothing, a billion dollar clothes company from America. He was also a judge on Shark Tank, a popular business reality show. He famously started off by selling hats in parking lots during sports games, and is now a millionaire. It didn’t happen overnight, and it wasn’t easy, but celebrity buzz helped his company explode when he got a famous rapper to wear his clothes in a music video that became huge. Everyone saw the style, and everybody wanted to become a piece of it. Celebrity news might not be our favourite source of entertainment but it is instrumental in determining what will be the next trends in fashion, style and public interest, and it’s worth keeping an eye on for the business savvy.

5. Freelance websites

Did you know you could become a professional audio book transcriber? Or health and fitness blog writer? Through a myriad of websites people are now able to develop streams of income through peer-to-peer networking like Fiverr and Upwork. If you have any talents at all, they can be listed in your profile and certainly somewhere out there is looking for someone like you. All you have to do is a bit of groundwork everyday, and soon you could find you replace your salary with the work you are doing online. Amazing!

4 Steps You Need to Follow Today to Develop Solid Self-Determination

No matter how hard you try, nothing seems to go right. One moment you’re determined to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals and the next moment you lose all your strength to continue doing what you’re supposed to do.

All your strong resolutions seem to go out the window and success simply feels a far off thing for you.

Frustrating, isn’t it?

dreams_successHoping and wishing great things to happen won’t actually make it happen. If you really want to achieve big goals in life, you’ve got to work for it. And all that starts with a self-determination.

Now, who am I to teach you about self-determination? Honestly,

Here are 4 steps you can follow to develop a solid self-determination to anything in your life.

1 | Make a commitment

A commitment kept is a prerequisite for success. Making a commitment means you make a promise to yourself to keep going no matter what happens. But if you fall, it’s perfectly okay. A true commitment means you have eliminated any possibility of backing out. It means you keep going and keep working hard despite the harsh circumstances you encounter. This is one of the best ways to get started with self-determination.

So, how do you go about making a commitment that’s right for you? One thing you must remember is that any kind of commitment requires clarity. If you truly want to commit to something, you must have clarity about what you’re committing yourself to. Better ask yourself:

Do I really want this?

What are the benefits of having this thing in my life?

Once you’re clear about your vision, create a clear plan of action. Invest in your goal. Let go of all the conflicting commitments. Stay focused and stop making complains and excuses. Don’t get driven by over planning, small pleasures and temptations. It’s also important to take into account possible drawbacks of making a wrong commitment. So, STOP making unrealistic commitments.

2 |Create a habit of daily practice

Let’s get real here. Regardless of what our goals are – at some point or another in our life we’re going to mess things up. The problem is: many of us give up. We tend to lose all the enthusiasm when our inner critic creeps in to debilitate us from moving forward. That’s where we stop trying. But you know what?

If you get past that and create a daily habit to automate certain aspects of your life, you can be as successful as you imagine. Having a goal isn’t enough – it’s equally important to break it down into smaller steps and take daily action to work for it.

You’ve probably heard this one before: it takes 21 days to form a new habit. Yes, this has been scientifically proven as true. If you don’t keep practicing your new habit each day consistently for the first 21 days, chances are, you won’t be able to keep it. So the idea is to do the same thing at the same time each day and stay consistent with it for the first 21 days. Eliminate excessive options and just do what you’re supposed to do until it becomes your new habit.

3| Track your progress

Once you’ve gotten yourself set into a new habit, it’s a must that you track your progress every single day. You don’t want to lose that enthusiasm and momentum just as you don’t want to lose your time, people, money and things you value. Set up a tracking system so that you’ll forge a psychological need to keep that streak going.

So, how do you start tracking your own progress? Well, there are a number of methods to measure your growth, therefore it’s important that you choose wisely. The first thing you can do is write everything down. If you’re serious about making a quick progress, I suggest you keep a calendar where you can check off each day for completing your daily goals. Don’t break the chain. If you’re too lazy to reach your calendar, use a planner using your iPhone or Google Calendar. And don’t forget to rate your progress as you move forward.

However, there are going to be days when you’ll fail to keep track of your progress. In such cases, start from Step 1 again (Make a commitment).

4| Enjoy each step

What’s so important about enjoying each step of what you are doing? Most people go through life not doing what they love. And the most obvious question they ask themselves toward the end of their life is – “What if?” Now, think about all the greatest people you know, from past and present. They all loved what they did or still love what they do. The difference is – only a small number of people get it and most don’t. The secret is to enjoy each step of what you do.

While we’re working toward our goals, it’s likely that we get more centered on the result and lose focus on the journey. Every step you go through might seem a little bit of hard work if you don’t feel it with your heart. So don’t just rush it. Each step in your journey can be a lot of fun if you learn to enjoy it. It’s never about what you do but how you do it. Take each step as an incredible moment to be enjoyed. See the victory right now – not in the future. If you win your ‘today’, nobody can take your tomorrow away from you.

Smile. And put these steps into action. You’re bound to turn your short-lived determination into a long-lasting change – eventually achieving whatever you want.

5 Signs It’s Time To Put Your Foot Down

Doormats around the world, come sit and read this please. We’ve been doormats for far too long. It doesn’t look good on us. We’re looking ragged and torn, dirty and worn. Is this look pleasing you? Are you happy with your life? Of course you aren’t. Are you ready to shed your doormat outfit? Enough is enough. It’s time to put your foot down.

We desperately try to please everyone and make sure the family is running smoothly, work is going off without a hitch, the neighbourhood is under control and life is good. For everyone. What about you and your life? How’s that running for you? If you are a doormat, I will guess that life sucks right now. Is it time to foot your down? Here are some signs it is time. Do you recognize yourself in any of these?

Young mother with little child sit at the dining table in the home kitchen.1. Nothing gets done unless you do it.

No one in the house con tributes to any chores or maintenance of the household because they know you are going to do it and you’re pretty tired of that. The most frustrating part is that you know if you don’t do it, nothing gets done. It might be time to sit everyone down and let them know how you feel. Perhaps you can come up with a game plan so that each person has a teeny chore or job and you get more time for you.

2. No time.

Continuing on with the first sign, you realize that you have no time for yourself anymore. It’s gone. Everyone around you expects you to do everything all the time. When you want to do something fun for you it seems impossible as someone is always beckoning you their way. Once again, your hobbies are put on the back burner. Could it be time to start saying no? Is it time to put your foot down now? You bet it is. That longing in your soul to do things for you is real. Stop ignoring it.

3. Resentment has kicked in.

You’re there now aren’t you? There was a time when you did things for love and enjoyment. Maybe even got a wee bit of pleasure out of doing things for people but you see it’s no longer like that. The only thing you feel now is resentment and you secretly wish everyone would just leave you the hell alone. You cringe at the fact that you have to cook dinner, do laundry, run errands, play taxi, etc., and no one else does or offers to help out. Tell them you’re done, make it stop. Let them know you are a doormat no more.

4. Constant fatigue.

You are just always tired. Not just tired of helping people, and not just physically but emotionally too, but tired of the constant phone ringing, texts, emails and everything else you are bombarded with daily. Is there no respect anymore? Doesn’t anyone understand you aren’t a robot? It could be time for you to put your foot down and tap out. Completely out. You need a break, and a big break at that.

5. What about me?

Doesn’t anyone do anything for you anymore? Are you starting to feel neglected and taken advantage of? There used to be a time where you did feel appreciated but that is a distant memory. No one cares how you feel and it’s actually starting to hurt your feelings and make you feel like you have no value. You do have value, by the way. You must start taking time for yourself and start saying no to those who don’t appreciate and value your time and efforts.
