Rabun Gap Depot by sanddbanakas by sanddbanakas
Rabun Gap Depot was built by the students of Rabun Gap-Nachoochee School to celebrate the former Talullah Falls Railway. History traces the railway back to 1854 when the Georgia General Assembly created a rail line to serve the area from Athens to north Georgia. The line reached the town of Clayton in 1898 and the town of Franklin, NC nine years later. Passenger service continued until 1946 and the line was terminated in 1961.
