A dark night of werewolfes and vampires…
This is the Reschensee in Tirol with his famous under-water-church. The tower is illuminated from the shore. This gives an additional mysterious mood.

…hope you like it!

Soaking It In by candacebartlett

This past Spring has been eventful with regards to shooting waterfalls around the Pacific Northwest, and I’m finally getting around to processing a few of them. I haven’t been posting photos very much due to spending a lot of time lately preparing for my upcoming wedding in August. Here is an image taken a few weeks ago on a rainy, foggy day in Central Oregon. After seeing Rami Jabaji’s awesome take on this place (apparently him, Terence Lee and I were all in the same location that weekend without realizing it), I pondered whether or not I should even attempt to process mine, but I still decided to give it a go anyhow. If you haven’t already checked out his image of Sahalie Falls, then you definitely should!
I was lucky enough to have this entire area to myself on this particular evening and the conditions were more than accommodating for waterfall shooting. A light drizzle continued on throughout the evening and the misty, dreary sort of atmosphere added a nice touch to the beautiful area. And, In case you are wondering…yes, the water really is a lovely, striking blue-aqua color. As I sat there for a good couple of hours taking my surroundings in, I was thankful that I had made the last minute decision to head here, along with some other waterfalls in the Central Oregon area. It is definitely one of my new favorite waterfall destinations and it was a nice change from dealing with the crowds in the Gorge on the weekend. As always, thanks for taking a look.

“Spring Awaking” by susanholtphotography

What a magical area of the gorge in northern Oregon! I was blessed to witness it when the greens were so lush and it was pure perfection. I ran into a little danger with a couple of large rocks falling and landing where I was previously shooting but luckily I moved forward in time. This is one of my favorite spots in Oregon hands down!

Grooves came to life as I descended through the slippery rocks to find my preferred vantage point. What a rush! Nature’s art.

Portrait of an Iceberg by leah_kennedy

A whale tale emerges from the ice in Antarctica. The reason I post this again is two fold, firstly I have reedited hopefully for the better! Secondly this and 60 other photographic works are being exhibited at Matthew Gillett Gallery in Scarborough NSW, so if you are in the area drop in and support us and the gallery.

I spent 4 days in the Palouse area of Washington, battling seasonal allergies with an endless cocktail of eye drops and pills, chasing around thunderstorms, and driving around aimlessly with no sense of time or direction. It was a soul-refreshing experience.

In this scene, ground fog seeps out of the rolling green hills of the Palouse farmlands at sunrise.

Huangshan Winter Tale by LudmilaEspiaube

Huangshan, Yellow Mountains, Celestial Mounts…
From time immemorial millions climbed up its abrupt slopes, its steep and sometimes very narrow stairs.
The granite peaks, shaped by time and elements, float in a sometimes serene and cosy ocean of clouds, sometimes in an agitated and threatening one, appearing and vanishing such as ghosts to the liking of the whims of Chi Po, the Chinese God of winds.
The hundred-year-old or young pines, sculpted into bonsais by weather and the nature of the soil, soften the severe aspects of the rocks and of the abrupt cliffs by playing hide and seek with the clouds.
