The Other Side by Pcoskun

One of the coolest things I have experienced was being able to walk behind a massive waterfall. This is the same waterfall that I shared titled “Tamanawasafros”. It’s not really difficult to get up here, but you do need to have some good footing as the rocks can be slippery and loose. It’s also a good idea to have a rain jacket or raincover as you have to cross through the mist that these falls produce. The payoff however is worth it. It’s still pretty hard to get some scale, but I was actually leaning as far back against the rocky wall as I could crouching underneath my camera so I could get the right angle to enclose the falls between the roof of the alcove and the ground. It might look like there is lots of space to wander around here, but do not be fooled. The soil is very loose and its all on a slight incline. Not to mention that the rocks above a dripping making it hard to still keep dry. Anyways, just thought I would share this shot and the experience with you all. Hope you enjoy!

Lunar Circus by iso100_photography

*Creative blend, stop getting upset the milky way is in the wrong spot folks lol* Mighty Mount Cook, Hooker Valley in the Mt Cook/Aoraki National Park, New Zealand. Twice i have visited this epic location and feel i have not come away with anything that does it close to justice, until now… Shot Mt. Cook after sunset in last light, then shot the milky way about 2,5 hours later and manually blended the two. This is one of the most inspiring locations I’ve ever shot – much respect!

The Consuming Tide by TrevorAnderson

I had this image up here recently as a color rendition considering all of my processing for my website has been in color as of late. I had temporarily halted the black and white mindset. This image, however, was originally processed in black and white and after giving it a black and white treatment this time around I can see that it indeed was its intended destiny. There are certain compositions that black and white enables details to spring to life more than the color counterpart, and I think with the directed focus I was striving for with this image, the black and white idea is certainly underscored.

A panorama of three horizontal shots taken from Uttakleiv beach in Lofoten islands. The rocky beach was full of interesting textures but I was struggling with the light as there were absolutely no low clouds to block the direct sunlight. So I had to wait until very last moment to capture the sunset or use some obstacles like I did here. In the end it turned out fine with the sharp sunburst behind the rock with zero flares and nice golden light at the edges of the frame.

The mountaineers by dimachatrov

The Group of lucky climbers has caught the “weather window” and climbs to the summit of Mont Blanc du Tacul (4248 m), the top of the first ridge of Mont Blanc. All last summer Alps were tossed with rains and sleet showers. People have been waiting for weeks for proper weather but often returned empty-handed…

Grinnell by PerriSchelat

This is Swiftcurrent Lake and Mount Grinnell in Glacier National Park, Montana, in early Spring before the park officially opened.

Shot with a wide angle lens several inches from my foreground. 3 focus points blended in Photoshop to achieve the sharp depth of field from foreground to background that I was after.

Eternity by exploringlight

Los Cuernos del Paine peaks through low clouds and fog, illuminated by the rising sun. Just moments later, a heavy fog came through as the scene vanished into the light of day.
