Frosty Morning, Moke Lake, New Zealand by PatrickMarsonOng by PatrickMarsonOng

A calm and undisturbed gem located a few km from the adventure capital of the world, Queenstown. Easy to get to, make your way to the Glenorchy-Queenstown Rd, then watch out for the turn sign towards Moke Lake Road and follow the gravel road for about 7 km to the lake.
Road’s a bit narrow and winter can be tricky. Here’s the coordinates where I shot this 45°00’32.0″S 168°34’18.5″E

Chanced it partially frozen during my last visit. First time to see this like at this condition. Amazing yeah?

Oh by the way, make sure to pack on waders if you plan to traverse the hays to get this spot. Feel free to share! Cheers guys!

to get this shot, i walked on a frozen lake.. when i was standing on the ice i realised that the lake is not everywhere frozen, somewhere there was a second frozen ice layer visible under the cracks and on other parts under the ice was deep water.. i had a little queasy felling, hearing the ice creak and crunch;) but i came back to the dry shore:)
