Eye & Stripes by mariomoreno

A close up image of a Grevy’s Zebra (Equus grevyi), also known as the imperial zebra. It is the largest wild equid and the largest and most endangered of the three species of zebra, the other two being the plains zebra and the mountain zebra. It is named after Jules Grévy and is found in Kenya and Ethiopia. Compared with other zebras, it is tall, has large ears, and its stripes are narrower.

Snow Pounce by RichardPeters

Prints of this image are available to buy here.

This image was lucky enough to win a Commended Award in the 2012 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition (more info here) and features a mousing fox on a cld winters morning in Yellowstone, caught mid-pounce as it dives to catch a mouse buried deep beneath the snow. It’s a quirky image that break the rules but has a great sense of humour to it as well which is why I think it was successful in the competition.
