Have You Ever Seen the Rain? by RussellMcGuire by RussellMcGuire
There is nothing more beautiful than an Arizona monsoon. When I first moved to Phoenix, I had never witnessed a monsoon before. I assumed that it was just like your typical thunderstorm from back home in Houston. Boy was I ever wrong. These storms put our little thunderstorms to shame.
For those who have never been in a desert monsoon before, let me try to explain it to you. Imagine one second atmospherics conditions are relatively calm. Maybe there is a nice breeze blowing and you see a few storm clouds off in the distance. Let’s say you look down for a few minutes to check Facebook or Instagram on your cell phone. When you look back up, all hell has broken loose. There is lighting and wind and rain that popped up out of nowhere. That is what being in a monsoon in Arizona is like… and I love it!
