Angel & I were celebrating my Dad’s Birthday with our cameras in tow, just in case we stumbled upon a good view. I have always had a passion for nature and landscape photography, and only now am I seeking out moments to capture it. For most of the early evening, the city sky was filled with clouds covering the beauty of the Super Moon. So, we stayed at my Dad’s longer, thinking we will have to wait until the next one comes around. On our way home, the moon suddenly appeared and the clouds seemed to be moving in the opposite direction. I had that immediate rush of excitement again and new I had to give it a shot. Angel and I chased the moon for some time, trying desperately to find parking. The more we drove the higher the moon appeared in the sky. So we bolted for the riverfront in hopes of better luck. We found a spot, grabbed our gear and headed toward the Ben Franklin Bridge. It’s always a favorite of mine, but I really wanted something different. As we strolled down the Delaware, we came across so many photographers. What a fun site. I absolutely love the excitement, an event in nature, brings out of us. I looked down the path and soon noticed the spot under the bridge was free and clear. Yes! This perspective is different and that is exactly what I was looking for last night. I knew I was running out of time to get the positioning of the moon that I wanted, so I decided I needed to do a composite of two images. One image I exposed for the moon at 200mm and the other I exposed for the scene with the 24-70mm. I am pretty happy with the result and hope you enjoy it too!!
