Marni Menswear Fall Winter 2015 Collection – Closer Look

Marni Menswear

During Milan Fashion Week fall winter 2015 ready-to-wear men’s season we had the chance to have the closer look of Marni menswear collection. Marni design team has taken inspiration from classic men’s attires bringing the lines into a slew of trend-bending solutions. The team behind the collection sums it up easily in one word – regeneration.

The classic sentiment of a men’s attire is shifted through time, while the collection is bold and striking, at the same time the richness of materials gives an androgynous appeal. Fur and leather take the center stage in many of the pieces, and rightfully the designs stay true to its season.

FIND ALL OF THE LATEST MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS

Collarless coats have returned a couple of times in past decades, nevertheless Marni‘s latest approach celebrates the idea in a refreshing manner.

Formality is approached from a slightly off-kilter angle: mismatched checks, broken suits, plain dress shirts paired with knitted ties. Jackets are compact, with a high buttoning, while trousers flare at the hem, or fall straight. The inside of the garments and their details are as studied and surprising as the outside: colorful pocket linings, contrast taping, hidden buttoning. – from MARNI

However putting fur and leather to the side, the very important part of the collection shines through the use of knitwear as well. The same is masterfully merged in a couple of pieces with fur and leather. What easily catches the eye is the colouring gradient shown in the sweaters. Easily a note worthy trend moment revamped by MARNI.

As in every Marni collection accessories are another of the label’s strongholds, this time the bold take on reshaping the classic shoe is equally matched with a slew of already coveted backpack solutions.

Discover more images from our closer look of the collection, alongside the key looks from MARNI menswear Fall Winter 2015 runway show presented during Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence.

Monsieur Lacenaire Fall Winter 2015.16 Presentation

Monsieur Lacenaire

Monsieur Lacenaire Fall Winter 2015 menswear collection presented during the recently wrapped up Paris Fashion Week. The collection rounds up the season with a slew of eye-catching knits. It’s all about the sweater.

This collection is named ‘’La Course des Débrouillards’’. Back in the 20’s, that’s how people use to name the ‘’triathlon’’, which was much more friendly at this time. Basically, people meet Sundays on the shores of La Marne, near Paris. They do cycling, running, boating … to impress the girls and having fun! To illustrate this idea in a catwalk, we invited friends for a very informal party of musical chair, supported by Ahmet Gulbay and his jazz band. – from Monsieur Lacenaire

Z Zegna Fall Winter 2015.16 Presentation

Z Zegna

Z Zegna this time opts for a presentation with a return to the Milan Fashion Week, the much welcomed event at the end of the day was followed by a cocktail party. Tired from a full day of shows nobody will forget the delicious food prepared that evening by Chef Filippo Lamantia.

Nevertheless, going back to the clothes the collection brings Z Zegna line much closer to its always lurking sportswear component. This time preparing the garments for a harsh winter, with introduction of innovative tailoring as well as weather-proof materials. For Z Zegna the new designs are the place Where Technology meets Tailoring:

Heritage is redefined by innovation. An international expression of style is reflected in a transglobal cocktail of fabrics and technologies, where heritage is revised and placed in complimentary contrast with innovation. Fine Italian wools, authentic Scottish and Irish tweeds coexist with laser cut technology. Deconstructed tailored coats gain a new vibe in textured tweeds layered with techno sweatshirts and knitwear. An eclectic mix of tweeded greys and textured black and white are complimented with camel, winter ivory, olive and acid yellow. Monochromatic indigo tones merge with navy and vibrant blue.

FIND MORE FALL WINTER COLLECTIONS IN OUR FASHION ARCHIVE

The design team used some of the warmest material, which coins for us a new word on the scene the Techmerino. Described as performance wool, it is used for tailored pieces as well as the sports taken footwear.

While in the past the Z Zegna collections have explored the boundaries, often coming into the territory of the Ermenegildo Zegna line, or even heading into a very minimal and overtly fashionable approach, the new direction is quite distinct. This time the label comes as a young and sporty sister of the Ermenegildo Zegna line which is helmed by Stefano Pilati – where the formal nature of the same is emphasized by the use of word couture.

Before wrapping up we have to notice the colour palette, the winter shades of gray are often mixed in with bright nuances of blue, as well as the very autumn like mustard tones.

Showed at the Zegna HQ in Milan, the Fall Winter 2015 season means a new era for the line. It is easy to notice a new path, quite a logical one, targeting the area not taken over by the Ermenegildo line. Peeking into the cards in their hands this change seems like a winning strike.

See images from the Milan presentation captured by our fashion week photographer Maud Maillard.
