Horn and Cloud by janet little As we headed back towards our hotel after a day exploring the Emstrur highlands of Iceland, the sky started glowing with the impending sunset. We stopped at one location and captured the changing light, but one particular plume of a cloud stood out from the scene. We hurried down the road a little further to a spot where we could capture the distinctive “Unicorn Mountain” with the plume, just as the cloud turned pink in the rapidly fading light. A truly magical moment. http://flic.kr/p/ahwrAD
Brúarfoss – Bridge Waterfall by DavidBurstein Brúarfoss – Bridge Waterfall, named after the natural bridge formed just below the waterfall where the water disappears underground to surface again a few metres downstream creating a natural bridge. The deep water has a wonderful milky blue color from its high mineral content. This picture is a 3 frame vertical pano shot at about 23h30 just as the sun was dipping below the horizon. http://flic.kr/p/aaNCTD

Northern Beauty by whitelfc “The first time you’d see them dancing and flailing around above your head, you’d be overwhelmed with joy, shed tears of some inexplicable emotion and be fucking glad you’re alive right there, right now. That’s what I did anyway.”
What a sweeping sensation seeing the Northern Lights was. A flurry of emotion which I’ve never felt before came all at once and with such a passion that I was compelled to grab whoever was next to me and cry. It does that to you, yes.
A thing I came most to regret during my time in Iceland was the fact that I forgot to pack my tripod. I actually consider it one of my most inept moments in my life. Trying to get a long exposure of these marvelous light with frozen hands proved to be very difficult. http://flic.kr/p/hsXYY8
