the long view | dyrhólaey, iceland by elmofoto ==> More of my Iceland photos here.
This was taken on the last day of our short jaunt through south Iceland. We had a lot of ground to cover, but I’m glad we decided to spend a few hours exploring this really interesting peninsula just west of Vik. There’s a cool lighthouse high atop the large rock formation (you can drive up it – it’s huge) that makes up this peninsula. This is the view looking west from the western edge; it’s black volcanic sand as far as the eye can see. If you’re going to South Iceland I would recommend a stop here.
I hope everyone had a nice Easter and/or Passover. Happy Monday.

Lónsöræfi – Iceland by sigfus.sigmundsson Lónsöræfi/Lonsoraefi is in south east Iceland. A very beautiful place where every photographer should go and take amazing pictures. This picture was taken in summer 2004 and this part of Lónsöræfi is called Tröllakrókar.
In one of those cliffs I asked my wife to marry me and she said….. YES!!! How could she say no in this kind of scenary?
This glacier is a part of the biggest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull.

Waterfalls Iceland by moonjazz I thought Yosemite was the queen of waterfall land but while those are tall and amazing Iceland must have 100 times more due to heavy rain and snowfall. A better name for this county is Wowland. http://flic.kr/p/xeb475
