2010_07_31_Island sør-kysten (233) by tholmb Skogafoss falls – The South Coast of Iceland – late afternoon with the sun, suddenly like a projector, lights up the falling water and making two incredible rainbows. In front the black sand of lava from the nearby vulcano. http://flic.kr/p/8sBAoY

Blue Lagoon by HeatherMG Outside the Blue Lagoon, so no people…

Blue Lagoon by HeatherMG Outside the Blue Lagoon, so no people in these pools.

From wikipedia: The lagoon is fed by the water output of the nearby geothermal power plant Svartsengi and is renewed every 2 days. Superheated water is vented from the ground near a lava flow and used to run turbines that generate electricity. After going through the turbines, the steam and hot water passes through a heat exchanger to provide heat for a municipal hot water heating system. Then the water is fed into the lagoon for recreational and medicinal users to bathe in. http://flic.kr/p/9AupvC

Three fulmars | Þrír fýlar by Kjartan Á Taken on Reykjanes, Iceland.

The two birds were just sitting there on the top of a cliff and when the third one came they screeched loudly at it. I was shooting against the sun, so I figured the best way to make this photo work would be to make it a silhouette.

The bird on the left has it’s head pointing straight at me, so it’s silhouette sorta looks like it’s wearing a hat.
