Il Lago di Dobbiaco è un piccolo lago alpino, di origine franosa, situato in Val Pusteria a 1.176 m s.l.m. nel comune di Dobbiaco, a circa 106 km da Bolzano. Il lago si trova a sud dell’omonimo paese. La Rienza è il suo immissario ed emissario. Il lago si trova esattamente al confine tra due parchi naturali: il parco naturale Dolomiti di Sesto e il parco naturale Fanes – Sennes e Braies. Il bacino ha un volume stimato in 286.000 metri cubi e un perimetro di circa 4,5 chilometri. Il lago di Dobbiaco rappresenta uno dei pochi esempi di marcita (una zona umida) esistenti nella regione alpina.

The Dobbiaco Lake is a small alpine lake of landslide, located in the Val Pusteria to 1,176 m above sea level in the town of Dobbiaco, about 106 km from Bolzano. The lake is located south of the homonymous village. The Rienz is its inlet and outlet. The lake is located exactly on the border between two natural parks: the natural park of the Dolomites of Sesto and the natural park Fanes – Senes and Braies. The reservoir has a volume estimated at 286,000 cubic meters and a circumference of about 4.5 kilometers. The lake of Dobbiaco is one of the few examples of rotten (a wetland) that exist in the Alpine region.
