The Mosque of Suleiman by MikeDrosos by MikeDrosos
The Suleymaniye Mosque or the Mosque of Suleiman (Turkish: Süleymaniye Camii) is a mosque originally built after the Ottoman conquest of Rhodes in 1522 and reconstructed in 1808. It was named by the Sultan Suleiman to commemorate his conquest of Rhodes. This mosque was the first mosque in the town of Rhodes, built soon after Ottomans besieged it and captured it in 1522. In 1808 the current building of mosque was built through the reconstruction of this first mosque. Its plaster is rose-pink. The most of the mosque was reconstructed using materials of the buildings which existed at the same place in the earlier period. The pillars of the outer arcade belonged to the Christian church. Europa Nostra gave this mosque an honorary distinction in 2006

Evans Bay Marina Sunrise by seeonesoul by seeonesoul
I headed down to the marina at Evans Bay, Wellington, New Zealand yesterday to watch the first light of day 🙂 I was treated to gorgeous colour, though not for long 🙂 It all changed so quickly, but what a lovely way to begin a brand new day 🙂 Calm and peaceful 🙂

Valle de Ricote – Murcia by PAkDocK by PAkDocK
One of the most beautiful places in the SouthEast of Spain is the, not well known, Valley of Ricote.
It is a traditional place, where it seems that time is stopped some centuries ago. The Segura river run along the valley, through palm trees borught by the Moors, lemon tree fields and colorful houses.
The weather is almost always marvelous….definitely Spring is here.
This is a panoramic composition of two images.

Salty Sunrise by zmashiah by zmashiah
First rays of light in a special location: The lowest place on earth. The dead sea is today more than 400 meters below sea level. It is a salty lake and in this shore, the salt crystallizes around plants that grew here, building beautify natural structures with water varying their color from green to cyan to deep blue. The sun adds it’s warm orange and yellow colors and the salt remains neutral white overall building an amazing set of colors
