She leaned over and kissed him gently on the cheek. “I can’t wait for us to go and explore…” he said as he shook a spoonful of parmesan with clumsy hands.
“Me too… have you found any spots for us to take photos yet?” she asked, then popped a bite of the delicious pasta into her mouth.
His heart warmed itself at the thought of showing her the small corner of Venice that had captured his imagination earlier that evening. He had missed her so much. It was going to be a wonderful memory, this Italian adventure together.
