Glass Pier by mattdemoraes by mattdemoraes

When I stood in front of the Brighton Pier with my camera ready to take a photograph I wondered what I could do differently to make this image special. So, in a moment of inspiration I took out my 10 stop B&W filter and began snapping away at a long exposure with a puddle in the foreground. The pier took on a mysterious, almost haunted look while the puddle in front of me was disturbed repeatedly by a child throwing rocks into it. I actually began encouraging him to throw more rocks when I realised he was creating a misty glass-like effect in the puddle. Then I joined in.
