The point of view was the only one that gave me an interesting view, since the city lights were dimmed or shot down so I was attracted by the grass in the foreground. The grass was full of rats (called “pantegane” in Verona) endangering the stability of my tripod.
Technical details: one raw exposure adjusted by darkening the sky. Overall contrast and saturation fixed in Photoshop.

Sunrise at the northern side of the Virupaksha temple in Hampi. The wonderful ancient city of Hampi is located in the state of Karnataka in southern India. In the 13th to 17th century it was the capital city of the Vijayanagara empire but it is believed that this temple has been built in the 7th century AD. This impressive temple is still a pilgrimage centre for the worshipers of lord Shiva. The eastern tower, called Gopura, is 49m (160 feet) high and has 9 stories.
