Discover Wild Iceland Like Reykjanes Light house in the twil by rafnsig by rafnsig

Reykjanesviti is Iceland’s oldest lighthouse. It serves as a landfall light for Reykjavík and Keflavík. The tower is a 31 metres (102 ft) tall construction, situated on the southwestern edge of the Reykjanes peninsula. The original structure was built in 1878; just eight years later the building was destroyed by an earthquake. In 1929 the current Reykjanesviti lighthouse, a concrete construction yet with traditional looks, was illuminated. Its focal plane measures 73 metres above sea level. Turn Around . . . by fernytaylor by fernytaylor

. . . . Photographers know to turn around when confronted with an amazing view, to see what is behind them. This is what I saw when sitting near the edge of Horseshoe Bend and a 1 K foot drop to the Colorado River in the lower right! No guard rails, sidewalks, or barriers! Not the best place to bring small children!

Have a great weekend Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
