past Saturday, i was hunting for the aurora borealis (a big thank you to Manfred Zobrist who told me about this particular spot).
There was a lot of aurora activity for a couple of hours and i might upload some of these shots during the next weeks (make sure to follow me).
But to my taste, the real beauty showed itself when the aurora activity faded to a faint glow, which was nearly perfectly in line with the milky way.
Tried several single shots, but went for a panorama (11 single shots) then.
Accepting some light pollution on the right and a cloud of the left, as both of them accompany an aurora hunter all the time, framing a beautiful aurora.
Resulting in a 120something-Megapixel-image, it suffers a little from the lower resolution and compression. I do apologize for that.
To me, it was one of the (if not THE!) most intensive experiences in twelve years of photographing.

El Castelo dos Mouros, erigido en una de las cumbres, de la Sierra de Sintra, da una visión panorámica de toda la región, llegando hasta el Océano Atlántico. También desde sus murallas, se consigue, una de las mejores vistas del Palacio Nacional de la Pena, otro de los puntos de interés del Concejo de Sintra.

Se tomó el 22 de Marzo de 2008, con una Canon EOS 400D a 18mm, ISO400, 1/4000s y f/3.5. Tratándose posteriormente en Photoshop.
Discover Wild Iceland – Like Búðakirkja church in the twilight by rafnsig by rafnsig
Búðakirkja church was erected in 1703 by Bent Lárusson, who was a merchant in Búðir. It rotted down but was rebuilt by Steinunn Sveinsdóttir in 1848. Legend has it that she did this following a request by Bent Lárusson in a dream. In 1984, the church was moved in one piece from the old graveyard onto its current foundations. The church was renovated to the form it was thought to have had in 1848, and was re-consecrated in 1987. The church is a listed building owned by the National Museum of Iceland, but it is in the care of the Búðir parish.
