Going through some old shots. This one was taken on July 31st 2013. Here’s the write up from the original shot:

So after a relatively successful start of the trip and a very long trek up to Laozho I boarded yet another raft that evening to travel up the river for my next night’s accommodation at a farmers guest house. The reason for travelling up to and staying at the guesthouse, Jack told me, was that this was the only way to photograph the Xianggong lookout.

As I was to find out, the Xianggong lookout was a spectacular view of a bend in the river surrounded still by the remarkable karst peaks stretching out as far as could be seen. After a few hours sleep it was time to start the trek up to the lookout – compared with Laozho the day before this trek was a walk in the park. Unfortunately it wasn’t the most impressive of sunrises but the view easily compensated for that – simply put, it was incredible.
