Popocatépetl, Mexico
12/31/2015, we were standing in front of Popocatépetl, the most famous volcano, a live volcano which last eruption was in 2013, and also the second highest mountain in Mexico. Our mexico trip is about to be end and the last sunset didn’t disappoint us. Actually, it was too perfect. We got some nice shots in this trip but didn’t see any yellow-red-pink sunrise/sunset show yet and this was our last chance. We climbed two miles at 13000 feet elevation to this viewpoint and waited for the last light to come. First we found some nice flowers at this elevation and in this season making perfect foreground, what a surprise. And then the sunset light show started, and last for quite long, obviously that’s the second surprise. Finally the third surprise: the volcano did release some gas during the sunset, which makes the picture even nicer. Really enjoyed such a perfect ending of 2015.
