While I was checking the weather forecast for the upcoming day I saw that the area that I was going to photograph was covered with clouds.
So, during the morning I left home a few hours before dawn to reach Isola Bella. When I arrived there I noticed that the whole area was covered with thick clouds but on the horizon some sunray was still visible.
As the sun rose, it appeared from the clouds, illuminating the whole scene.
I used a ND1000 filter to create an exposure of nearly a minute, flattening the sea and emphasizing the movement of the clouds.
