This a waterfall – or rather a section of a waterfall – that I’ve been wanting to visit for a long, long time now. Part of the nearly 1,300-foot tall Bridal Veil Falls near Index, Washington, this part of the falls drops about 270 feet amid surprisingly thick, old forest. This fall used to be visible from the old trail to Lake Serene, but when the new trail was constructed in the early 90s the views of this part of the falls was lost – the new trail only allows access to the two lowermost of five major sections of the falls, and while the lower sections of the falls are scenic, this is by far the prettiest part.
