To better see the night sky, people often reach out to mountain tops. Here, we’re doing the opposite.
This is a 20-pane mosaic panorama taken this past weekend, from Badwater’s salt flat, the lowest point in North America, at 282 feet below sea level.
It was captured shortly after moonrise, around 3:30am. You can’t see the moon because it’s behind that mountain, named Black Mountains BTW. The orange glow to the right is that thing called Las Vegas, about 90 miles east.
