Balsam root is exploding all over the hillsides in eastern Washington and it is a sight to behold for sure. The challenge, however is to deal with the high winds while trying to find a compelling composition.
For this particular image, I used two exposures for focus stacking, but actually fired lots more to get the right flower movement and positioning in the frame. Also, an ISO of 2000 was needed to have a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the movement.
