Heartland II by Nordhaug-photography by Nordhaug-photography

These two houses caught my attention when I visited Lofoten last winter. As I was waiting for the right light, my mind kept spinning around how it would be to live here 30-40-50 years ago. Although I’m born and raised in northern Norway myself, it was a totally different situation back then. It must have been a though life, beeing dependent on the harvest from the small fields, maybe a few sheep and of course the fisheries, which provided not only for the population here, but was the definitely largest income for the country until we found oil. I hope this image also makes your thoughts run freely! Have a splendid sunday!
