I took this “selfie” just for kicks this morning. The real shots probably wont be processed till who knows when… Lately, photography is becoming more to me about the adventure and experience rather than getting ‘The Shot’. This was a super fun adventure.
I made the drive down the rough road to the trail head, figured I’d test out my new 4WD vehicles limits. Of course it was raining the entire time which made it all the more fun.
We’ve had some rare encounters with wildlife on the coast where I live… Bears and Cougars. It’s had me a bit spooked lately. So I insisted on yelling out “No bear, No Cat” every 20 yards or so on the trail. Then occasionally I’d belt out a tune at the top of my lungs. I constantly thought I was being stalked by a cougar, I guess my imagination got the better of me. But once I hit the falls all those thoughts vanished. I suppose that’s what happens to all us waterfall-chasers. Once we see the prize, nothing else exists, we are in the zone. That could be a good thing or a bad thing I suppose. I spent nearly 3 hours down here mostly goofing around and exploring. Not another soul for so many miles. I would have made perfect bear food đŸ™‚
