New Day by Pcoskun by Pcoskun

This area of Southern Utah was home to perhaps some of the most visually stimulating landscapes I’ve seen in the southwest. So many different forms of rocky layers and ridges among so many other little details. I had wanted to visit this area for the past several years, and never found myself getting up that way. This year, I knew I wanted to get to some places I’ve never been, and despite how popular this location seems, we didn’t see a single person out here. Just plenty of cows wondering what we were up to. Upon arriving the the evening before, we had scouted out an area that I’ve never quite seen images from. It baffled me, seeing how unique and interesting the landscape was. We decided to head back out to the same area for sunrise and explore even more. To our delight, we awoke to mixture of high clouds and clear sky. I knew this would surely bring some color to the landscape. When the sun finally began to crest over the horizon, the incredible factory butte lit up in crimson hues. The Henry mountains in the background were catching some beautiful alpenglow, and I knew I had to act quick to find a composition that lead to the beautifully lit peaks. I stumbled upon this mound of converging slabs of rock that seemed to point directly towards the glowing ridges. The colors were just spectacular over the landscape and created a beautiful contrast of warm and cool colors. Definitely one of the most photogenic places I have ever been and I barely scratched the surface!
