Here’s the Milky Way in all its glory over the town of Springdale, just outside of Zion NP. Springdale has been working to reduce their overall light pollution with a dark sky ordinance and it’s definitely working! For those in Kanab, I’m giving a presentation on night photography on Wed, May 10th at 7PM at Zion’s Bank. I was with a client while taking this shot at 2AM when a police officer showed up and asked us what we were doing. We told him we were just photographing the Milky Way and then he asked if what we were doing was legal. We responded in the affirmative but had a good laugh about it later.
