always a treat to photograph starfish at the West Coast, usually shot during sunset we went during sunrise as well for 3 straight low tide sessions. swell charts were low, the red alert was on the east coast, but still dangerous during a rising tide as you would not know where to step once the basalt rocks become engulfed with water. this was my last shot and I had to go back in chest deep waters while waves kept coming from my back…. if I had chosen to wear a different jacket today and had not left my backpack on the shoreline, all my stuff would have been kaput.
