Naga sadhus are the ascetics who cant be seen easily other than the Kumbh Mela. The real Nagas (as opposed to the fake ones) are people who live by utmost discipline and devotion. They are known for a lifestyle no one can envy. They renounce not only all their belongings, including the cloths, but also their desires and their libido. They live in the toughest conditions possible and go through the most rigorous curriculum of penance before joining the echelon. These sadhus demonstrate the limits of human existence in their daily life. The limit which is the other extreme of the western consumerism (which will be very much Indian, very soon). So while they may make excellent subjects for a photograph, what they represent is something far beyond the cognition of the ordinary people. And they must be respected for that.
