Fire Rock by AronCooperman by AronCooperman

Ernie E Suto, Roman Racela and myself traveled many roads to get to this location on our whirlwind southwest trip, some asphalt and some dirt… we drove through rain, wind and even some snow, made some wrong turns, but eventually we found our way to the this spot. At first we were greeted with bland grey skies, then pouring rain… we thought about leaving, but decided to stick it out inside of Ernie’s truck.

After the rains cleared out, we headed back out and each started to visualized our own photo comps. All three of us fell in love with this s-curve on the cliff edge… while Roman and Ernie shot for the other direction with the hoodoos in the background, having this massive rock in the foreground was appealing to me.

Once the sky started to have this incredible color explosion at sunset, all three of us started running in various directions.. but that flat rock was in the back of my head. I quickly scurred over to the cliff edge and carefully set up the comp I have thought of earlier… while the colors just kept getting brighter and brighter over the desert valley landscape.
