Every 8 minutes, this Icelandic geyser erupts, sometimes launching a column of water 40 feet high. This made a fascinating photography subject. The water expands and retracts before eruption, creating this blue bubble. The heat from the water creates steam, often the steam itself was obstructing a clear image of the bubble. I got lucky as the steam had parted just long enough for me to get a clear shot of the bubble at the moment of eruption.
