I usually plan my photo shoots before I hit the road. I know where I will be at what time. I hike or drive like crazy to get to where I want to be.
But, the most beautiful moments present themselves while I am in between locations. I missed so many great shots before because I had to drive to my main location and when I got there it was a total disappointment.

Landscape photography is about being in the moment wherever you go. Once you miss a moment it’s gone forever. If you see something interesting, shoot. Don’t be lazy. It’s never gonna be the same. Light, wind, clouds, even your mood will never be the same if you get back to the same location just a couple minutes later.
