This image was captured in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska. In this section of the preserve, the snow capped mountains and reflections dominated the landscape. This is a location that should be visited by all.

It felt like a while since I had been out to a lake and tried to take a long exposure photo, so whilst heading out from nelson it seemed like the perfect opportunity to crack out a new variable ND filter and try it out during the day. After spending a freezing night camped out in the national park I manage to get a shot I was really happy with. It was well worth the sand fly bites and the pretty cold nights weather.

The Tronco Cavo (literally “hollow trunk”) is a centenarian beech that stands in the depths of the forests of Matese. The most remarkable characteristic is its trunk which maintains unaltered the external structure but it is empty on the inside. One can step into the tree and follow with the eyes the branches extending in every direction. Its somber and majestic appearance awake natural symbolism in many folkloric tales.
