This is a re-edit of a shot from one of the best nights I’ve ever had up in the mountains. After being pounded by storms and witnessing an intense light show from above the Nub viewpoint we finally decided to pack it in and tromp down the trail in an I-want-my-bed fervor. But down below, as this scene started to unfold we couldn’t help but whip out our tripods again. Of the 3 days I spent in this park, Assiniboine peak came out of the clouds for a combined total of about 15 minutes. This was 5 of them.

The best sunset that we had during out trip to the Blue Mountains in Australia. In fact it was the only colourful sunset we got for a whole week and I was keen to make the most of it. A local photographer was kind enough to show me a couple of great spots and this was one of them, on the slopes of Mount Banks, overlooking the mountains and the valley.
